Cost of Accident Claims

Pardon the Platonism, but without a medical report, you have about as much chance of making a successful accident claim as you do of shaving a lion. Without a medical report, your solicitor is going to have a difficult time in proving the severity of your injuries. In some cases, where there is little other evidence, it can be as profound as your solicitor struggling to prove that you were injured in any capacity whatsoever.

Okay so you want your solicitor to earn the money that they will be getting from your case, but you also have to be aware that there is a certain degree of symbiosis when it comes to the relationship that you have with your legal representative. Therefore, make every effort to record costs that you incur as a result of your injuries. Things such as taxis that are only required as a result of your injury, and evidence of any loss in wages. The more you can help your solicitor, the quicker the case can be resolved. Keeping a diary of absolutely every cost incurred, and also any perceived sequential costs, will allow your solicitor to carry out his/her work for you far more efficiently.

Always be cynical when it comes to personal injury claims, whether they pertain to work accident claims, trip, slip, fall claims, car accident claims or whatever. The word altruism does not exist in the lexicon of corporate insurance companies, and if they can wriggle away from paying a suffering person compensation, then they will experience no guilt in doing so. Get everything in order, and you and your solicitor can get everything that you rightly deserve.
